While in NYC, I got to meet Emma McQuiston, she is set to be Britain’s First Black Marchioness.
Emma McQuiston married Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth (aka the son of Alexander Thynn, the 7th Marquess).
She’s also celebrity chef. Before becoming a chef, she studied history of art at University College, London, and even tried her hand at acting. Emma McQuiston, the daughter of a Nigerian oil tycoon, has made history by becoming Britain’s first ever member of the heriditary, landed aristocracy.
The former model, food blogger and aspiring celebrity chef, tied the knot with Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, who is heir to the Longleat estate and the son of Alexander Thynn, the seventh Marquess of Bath.
Although McQuiston is currently a viscountess, she would take on the name Lady Bath when her husband comes into his inheritance.
She was really sweet, personable and took lots of pictures.

Emma is a delightful girl and I wish her every happiness. She is very pretty and her husband is a very lucky man. The one thing I don’t agree with you and Tatler on is that you insist on calling her Black. Only. What about her White mother, did she not give birth to her? There is nothing wrong with the words Mixed-race. It only makes her prettier, international and interesting. Also your claim that she is the first Black aristocrat is incorrect as she is already related to her husband through her mother, and there are many Mixed-race British toffs.
Emma is Black. Ok she is one half black. Calling her mixed does not make her prettier, international or necessarily interesting. I know plenty of mixed individuals who are not pretty by any standards, never left the town they were born in, and are as boring as mud. Mixed is not an improvement over Black except to bigots. You get a star.
