This past Saturday, R & B Recording Artist Ledisi made a stop in Memphis, TN.. Ledisi was the keynote speaker at the GRAMMY futureNOW conference (formerly GRAMMY GPS: A Road Map For Today’s Music Biz).
The event was held at Stax Music Academy. They provided educational and professional development information and insight focused on utilizing new media tools to enhance fan engagement, developing new revenue streams and ways indie artists can improve their online presence, marketing and financial well-being.
Ledisi took time to discuss her experiences outside the studio and how she has built longevity by cultivating and nurturing her fan base.
“The best part of my career is sharing my journey with others,” said Ledisi. “I am so honored to be a part of a platform that will allow me to talk about how new technology has elevated and sustained my career. Some aspects of it can be challenging but the most important part of it all is I have a stronger relationship with my audience.”
GRAMMY futureNOW also featured acoustic showcase performances by artists such as 2014 GRAMMY U Amplifierwinner Jessica Faith and The Commercial Appeal’s Best Newcomer of 2013, Marcella Simien.
