[Whitehaven News] Macy’s Southland Mall Closing Doors – 112 Employees Will Loss Their Jobs

MacysSo by now, we have all heard the news that Macy’s in the Southland Mall is closing their doors. The anchor store in Whitehaven announced a few weeks ago they would be closing their doors.

According to Press Release issued:

Our business is rapidly evolving in response to changes in the way customers are shopping across stores, desktops, tablets and smartphones. We must continue to invest in our business to focus on where the customer is headed – to prepare for what’s next,” said Terry J. Lundgren, Macy’s chairman and chief executive officer.

In other words, the store in the mall, is not making them any money. As a result of the closing  112 associated will lose their jobs.  The Southland Mall store is 150,000 square feet and opened in 1966.
