Blow11-682x1024

Xclusive Memphis recently had a chance to sit down and interview with Miami based rapper Blow.

Blow is a rapper that has a hard sound hitting the airwaves right now. He is signed with IME Entertainment (Independently Major Entertainment)  which is owned by NFL star Thomas Jones. The Florida based rapper has singles that are getting a lot of buzz right now including the strip club anthem “Tony the Tiger”, the Billboard-charting “All I Do Is Ball” featuring French Montana, as well as “Ain’t Me” and “Neighborhood Superstar”.  Blow has been networking from city to city, performing alongside the likes of T.I. and Webbie. He has also opened concerts for Meek Mill, Juelz Santana and Forgiato Feast, and has worked with Def Jam artist Lil Durk, Tom G, Famous Kid Brick, and Jordan Hollywood.

Who is Blow?

I’m frrom Saint Petersburg, Florida, right outside of Tampa. I have been doing music 5-6 years. Got a single ‘All I Do is Ball’ with French Montana, that is doing great numbers right now. Also have a single with Lil Durk out of Chicago.

How you got connected with Thomas Jones?

Thomas Jones had a label. He has a football documentary coming out; he has a few artists signed onto the label. He already had the label before me. I did the music 3-4 years, someone in the streets said they could link me up with Thomas Jones, he (Thomas Jones) was looking to add to his roster.  I came to Miami to link up with Thomas so he could hear my music.

The Single ‘Ball’ Is Known As The Miami Heat Anthem, how did that come about?

I already  had the record, I did a Heat version with the Miami Heat; it says Wade, Bosh, Lebron, Haslem, Chalmers, Miller, it had all the players names in the hook. We starting printing CD’s and passing it around Miami. I had a meeting with D.J. Irie, the DJ for the Miami Heat, he liked the music and he started playing it in the arena. From there everyone in Miami knew that was my song.

Have you meet any of the Heat Player?

Yes, Mario Chalmers, he has heard the record. I meet them all in the club and seen them from the distance. They know it’s my record. Mario said he likes the record. Since they play it in the arena, they have heard the song. I would love to meet them and shoot the video with French Montana and get the Heat Players in there.

The Single ‘All I Do Is Ball’ sounds familiar to T.I.’s single Ball, Do you get that a lot?

I actually performed the song (‘All I Do Is Ball’)  in ATL at the ‘W’ in front of  T.I.. It was an honor meeting him. I look up to him with the music.

2 artists/producers that you would love to work with?

Rick Ross (I like his style and his music), French Montana and maybe Chief Keef.

Highlight of your career up to this point?

Going overseas and performing. I performed in Costa Rica. I made the news on my second trip. I did an feature and a video for a artist over there.  I also had a video on World Star Hip Hop, entitled ‘Tony The Tiger’, it got 8.5 million views in a 4 days.  I was a guest of a guest of DJ D. Strong, I went to 106 & Park this year and watch how the show goes down. It was a plus, not a lot of artist get that. Recently Blow was also recently filmed in Los Angeles during an HBO boxing match, as he rapped and walked with Heavy Weight Champion Bermane Stirverne and the legendary Don King to the ring for Stirverne’s fight introduction. I performed at HBO, I walked in the ring with Don King, performing my song. I have been real blessed. I have meet alot of people this last year. Everyone, except Rick Ross. Thomas Jones does a good job with getting his artist around people.

What’s next for Blow?

I’m dropping Flexing was The Case in 2-3 weeks hosted by DJ Epps, with French Montana and Lil Durk. I’m dropping a lot of Freestyles. The last 2 year I have been doing trap music, I’m from the south. Working on a rock song with me & GunPlay. I wanna show people that I am a real artist. I can do street music, trap music, dance music and more.
