This past Saturday, I covered the Sisterhood Showcase in Downtown Memphis, TN. After hours of walking, talking and meeting people I was starving. I made my way to Beale St.. I wanted something quick, quiet, easy entry and good. I ended up at Blues City Cafe. It sits at the corner of Second and Beale. It was easy to enter the restaurant. I didn’t even have to go through downtown security to enter.
The Blues City menu includes Famous BBQ Ribs, Southern Fried Catfish, Broiled Steaks, and the Worlds Best Homemade Tamales.
I was so hungry, I neglected to get a picture of my meal. But trust me it was the bomb. I had the Catfish Plate and Caesar Salad. I did grab this shot of my dessert. It was right on time. Don’t judge me. I earned it.
So the next time you are in downtown, stop by and put some “South In Your Mouth”! They are open till 5 am on weekends.
