Reginae Carter & Bria Williams Host Book Signing At GARB Boutique

This past weekend hundreds flocked to New Orleans to enjoy the food and fun planned for the 2013 Essence Festival. While most people were partying, Reginae Carter (daughter of Lil Wayne & Toya Carter) and Bria Williams (daughter of Birdman) were out establishing their brands. The girls had two book signs lined up for Essence weekend. One was being held at GARB (Regainae’s mothers Boutique) and one at the Convention Center. The girls have published a novel, “Paparazzi Princesses.” It’s based on stories and characters inspired by their own life experiences. “It’s about the ups and downs of having celebrity parents,” Reginae Carter said. “It’s about how we go through everyday drama like everybody else.”

Both events drew massive crowds. The one held at the Convention Center ran over time and eventually had to be cut off. We got a chance to pop our head in GARB to grab a few shoots of the girls in action. They autographed each book for the fans and took pictures. The princesses waited patiently in line to meet with the new authors.

The book covers the privileges and challenges of being teenagers whose fathers are hip-hop stars. The characters learn how to shuffle red carpet events, school, and relationships with friends and their parents while trying to find their own identities in the shadows of their famous fathers.
