Is Coach Lionel Hollins headed to LA? Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting that former Grizzlies’ coach Lionel Hollins has emerged as a candidate for the Lakers coaching position. Hollins is expected to interview with Lakers’ management on Thursday.
Hollins last coaching job was with our Memphis Grizzlies. While a coach in Memphis the team set the best record in franchise history. The 2012-13 season, The Grizzlies won 56 games under the coaching from Hollins and made the Western Conference finals. Our spree was short lived as we fell to the Spurs. Shortly after the season, Hollins and the Grizzlies parted ways.
Hollins is still active in the Memphis community and still has a home here. Many have speculated that he may one day return as the coach of the boys in Beale Street Blue. Although. I think that is far fetched, the craziest things have happened.
