Memphis Native K. Michelle is currently buzzing the charts with her new album. She is in the running with Sevyn Streeter, Bridget Kelly, Elijah Blake, Jhené Aiko, and Kat Dahlia.
Former TG4 and RichGirl singer Sevyn Streeter has written songs for Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland alongside her solo material. Elijah Blake and Bridget Kelly both benefit from their Roc Nation signings, with the former guesting on tracks by Rick Ross and J. Cole and the latter getting a Frank Ocean-written song with “Thinking About Forever.” Cuban-American singer/rapper Kat Dahlia has already released three acclaimed singles and is prepping for her debut album, My Garden. Elsewhere, Jhené Aiko has long been the go-to female singer for your favorite rap song, but she’s ready for her close-up with the release of her long-awaited debut, Souled Out, (which is, as she told us, “98% finished”). Speaking of long-awaited debuts, Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star K. Michelle just released Rebellious Soul after numerous mixtapes, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
