The Memphis Grizzlies are struggling in the playoffs right now against the LA Clippers. Currently we are 0-2. However, we still have something to be proud of. Marc Gasol is reportedly scheduled to be named the best defense player in the league.
According to Chris Vernon, Gasol will be named the 2012-13 Defensive Player of the Year.
In addition to contributing on offense with 14.1 points and 4.0 assists per game, Gasol averaged 7.8 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.0 steal per game—numbers that helped him place fifth on the NBA’s defensive rating list for the 2012-13 season (via Basketball-Reference).
Memphis will return home at FedExForum, on Thursday, 8:30 PM (CT) for their next play off game and I’m sure there will be alot of grit and grind going on in the Grind House.
