CMG, three letters that without a doubt when you see them, you think of Memphis’ own Yo Gotti and the brand he continues to build. It’s (3) letter that Yo Gotti, the CMG crew and die-hard fans wear proudly. Whether on apparel or the cover of the hottest cd/mix tape, when you see the letters, it’s an instant connection to one of the hottest hip hop artist in the game right now. A lot of hard work, determination, sleepless nights, and North Memphis memories are summed up with the letters CMG. I follow the CMG Family on social media and support the movement. But, most recently I noticed a new face among the CMG crew. Initially I thought it was a fan, but I started to see him in more and more pictures. Well little did I know, Yo Gotti was getting ready to shake up the music scene.
Meet Wave Chapelle. He’s a young, hungry, energetic and talented rapper. And yes, he is the newest face to the CMG Family. Wave has officially signed with CMG. Last Thursday, Yo Gotti hosted the signing celebration dinner for the newest member. Wave Chappelle’s management, DJ, media and the CMG family came out to Prive’ to celebrate with Wave and officially welcome him on board.
Being a fellow rapper, it’s no secret Gotti has a love for music. But as a business man who is building an empire; Yo Gotti has an ear for talent. With a current roster that includes Zed Zilla and Snottie Wild; Gotti is building a camp of talented artsists. No, I’m not a fan because of the CMG name, but it’s clear I believe in their sound. Zed and Snottie both have hits that are in my current music rotation.
I was invited to have dinner with Yo Gotti and the CMG Family for Wave’s official signing dinner celebration. One thing is for sure Wave is a beast. His presence alone sends the vibe that he is hungry and ready to take over. Just hours after the signing Wave headed to the studio. Yuup..he’s on the way. All I can say buckle up, move over and watch out as Yo Gotti and the CMG team continue to build an Empire and make their mark in the hip hop game.
