It was clear that from the moment Yo Gotti announced that his 3rd annual birthday bash would be at Mud Island, that it was sure to be an epic night.
From the promotions and marketing to the unveiling of some of the surprise guest for the 2015 bash, it was clear that the CMG team was going to make sure the bash went down in Memphis history.
After months of anticipation the gates at Mud Island Park opened and 1,00’s of CMG fans flocked in. From all white to CMG apparel, fans from near and far anxiously awaited to gain entrance to the park.
After a few local acts and a series of songs played by the DJ’s on the stage. The moment everyone had waited for happened. Dressed in all white ‘The King of Memphis’ appeared on stage to roaring fans. The screaming and yelling was echoed across downtown Memphis.
The energy in the building was crazy. The fans made it loud and clear that they love Yo Gotti. And in true Memphis style, Gotti made sure that the fans knew he loved them back.
After performing a few of his own songs, Gotti began to bring out the CMG rooster. Zed Zilla, Snootie Wild, Wave Chapelle and newly signed Blac Youngsta; all took turns hitting the stage with the head of the CMG Empire.
Although fans, did not know what to expect, they waiting with each passing moment to see who would be the next artists to emerge from behind the stage.
Dej Loaf, Boosie Bad A$$, and Richie Homie Quan were all in attendance as promised to perform along side Gotti as promised.
Then the surprises began to come Monica, O.T Genasis, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaji, and lastly the most talked about DJ Paul (story here).
It was truly a wise decision to have birthday bash outdoors. There is no venue in the city of Memphis that could have contained the energy and excitement to 4 walls. The fans lost their mind as artist after artist appeared. Social Media was on fire and Gotti was trending on Twitter.
The show was sold out 5,000+. I have not heard one compliant about the show.
After a night of many surprises , Gotti closed out the show making it clear why he’s titled ‘ The King of Memphis’.
I got a chance to catch up with Gotti after the show, be sure to check back for what he had to say about coming home with such an epic show!
