Rapper Slim Thug can finally add a new award to his collection. The city of Houston recently honored the rapper with his own day. Mayor Annise Parker and City Council Member Jerry Davis took time to honor the home town guy.
February 25 was declared Slim Thug Day, just three years after fellow Texan rapper Bun B was honored with his own day in H-Town. In honor of the rapper’s philanthropic work in the city including annual food drives, his home town will now celebrate the influence he’s had on his community each year, Houston’s KHOU reports.
Stayve Jerome Thomas (born September 8, 1980),[1] better known as Slim Thug, Boss Hogg or Sheffield Wednesday, is an American rapper. Bun B was in attedance to celebrate with Slim.
Slim Thug grew up in Houston’s Northside neighborhood of Homestead/Scenic Woods. Slim says that his rap name come from the fact that as a teenager, he was very tall and lanky before he filled out.[citation needed] He stands 6’6″ tall. The Thug part comes from people’s assumptions of him due to his fresh braids and sunglasses.[citation needed]
Congrats on all his success.
