Steve & Marjorie Harvey are teaming up with their foundation to host the 5th annual gala entitled, The Power of 3: Potential, Passion & Purpose on May 3 at the Hilton Chicago.
During the gala Steve and Marjorie will honor Cookie and Magic Johnson, Pastor Corey Brooks as well as Steve Pemberton, Chief Diversity Officer of Walgreens with the “Helping Hand Award.”
The “Helping Hand Award” was created to honor individuals whose efforts and leadership make measurable differences in the lives of young men and women. Past recipients of the award include Debra Lee, Chris and Malaak Rock, Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry as well as Spike and Tonya Lee.
The foundation sponsors national programs, including mentoring camps for boys and girls and scholarships to aid young people in their development. The Gala will benefit the many initiatives of the Harvey foundation including plans to build a family center in Dallas, Texas.
The mission of The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation is to provide outreach to fatherless children and young adults, by promoting educational enrichment, one-on-one mentoring and global service initiatives that will cultivate the next generation of responsible leaders.
