NBA legend Elliot Perry is now a part of The Memphis Grizzlies again. No, the basketball great won’t be gearing up to play ball.
Perry has been handed another task. Perry is a retired American professional basketball player. The 6’0″ point guard from Memphis State University, was selected with the tenth pick of the second round by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1991 NBA Draft.
The Memphis Grizzlies named Perry as Director of Player Support.
“Elliot has deep ties to this franchise and a lifelong bond with city of Memphis. In addition, he is a wonderful example of someone who has achieved sustained success both personally and professionally,” Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace said. “We are excited for him to take on this role in mentoring our players in both their current careers and their post-basketball endeavors. We hope as an organization to continue building a long-term connection between the city and our players well beyond their playing days.”
The legend has deep ties with Memphis. He is a Memphis graduate of Treadwell High School.
