YES! I love me some Queen Latifah, can’t wait to visit her talk show this year. Sources are beginning to report that Queen Latifah will perform ‘America the Beautiful’ at the 2014 Super Bowl.
Latifah, whose real name is Dana Owens, will perform the patriotic song prior to kickoff. Opera singer Renee Fleming will take on singing the National Anthem during pre-game festivities, and Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will team up for the halftime show.
While the 43-year-old star’s has performed “America the Beautiful” at the 2010 Super Bowl, this performance will be particularly meaningful. The Garden State native — she was born in Newark and raised in East Orange — will be singing for a worldwide audience from her home state, as this year’s game is taking place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
